Frequently Asked Questions:

What do we do?

Independent journalism, writing, publishing and consulting. This includes areas of freelance newswriting, broadcasting, communications technology (including digital document translation and publication), editing, design and advice related to any of these areas.

What are your media?

Any medium that includes news as part of its core product -- newspapers, radio, television, Web and the technological marriages and descendents of any of those media. Our founding mission stems from the the fact that news is one of the few commodities given protection in the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. As the 20th century drew to a close, many organizations whose primary mission formerly was independent journalism saw fit to de-emphasize news in favor of other interests, but other avenues of expression have expanded to create opportunities for people devoted to news.

Do you do public relations?

No. We do offer consulting on the care and feeding of the media as well as communications. Aside from the fact that PR work would detract and/or conflict with our primary goals, we believe that PR -- no matter how good -- is often wasted on organizations that would do better to spend money on cleaning up their core strengths rather than try to polish dirt.
